Spider plants are becoming a collectors item and I have been lucky enough to get several new and some rare and European varieties of chlorophytum comosum but I can not put them up individually on my plant list because they are not listed as yet in the database.
If I give you the names, will you check them out for me and add them so I can add these to my list? I want them listed separately since that is how I sell them when they are available. I send customers to look at my plant list to see all that is available on occasion. Is that going to be possible for you to do that for me? Please?????? Pretty Please??????
I will take individual pictures of all the new babies to add also, plus a description etc. Should be great when finished.

Yes, please post your list and we'll review them.

JB, you can add new cultivars to the database. Go here: http://garden.org/plants/searc... and scroll down to the bottom and at the very bottom, click on "Add a new plant to the database". All you do is fill in the information:

Primary Common name: Spider Plant
Accepted Bot. Name: Chlorophytum comosum
Cultivar: (add name here)

Then click on Proceed to Step 2 and it will be entered, waiting a database administrator to approve it. You will get a message once approved.

'Atlantic' - have not yet seen this as being available in the USA...Dutch release
'Pacific' - Dutch release about 2006 not yet seen as being available in the USA

Lin, you are so nice to help me gather the proper information. C. macrophyllum is a separate species; Chlorophytum macrophyllum: I do know it is different than the others and it is just as you said. I have that on my list properly but did not see it until the post was already written. This species has rosettes of very wide green leaves and does not produce plantlets on runners like the comosum varieties. It does produce seed. I will add this to my comments when I get back to working on these. I will also add pictures of the plantlets I have. I prefer using my own photos on my list as not to misrepresent any plants I may have for sale. It will be awhile before I have a mature plant to take a picture of, but that too will come.
