Hi Arlene. Your lovely plant appears to be Phedimus kamtschaticus. I have this one and when the plant matures during the growing season it has that graceful arching form. A great plant indeed. Great photos.

This is a young plant.

Lynn - I have that one and it's quite small. The one in my photo must be around 14" tall. I'll measure and take more photos.

Great photos. It would be one of the Phedimus, but I'm not sure which one.

Is yours just now blooming? Is it in shade or partial shade?
Could it be Phedimus ellacombianus? Mine is just now starting to bloom in morning shade, afternoon sun.

Mine are all in full sun. Some are just done blooming while others (I may have cut back earlier in the year) are in bloom now.

I find it confusing when the first link says, "The dense, low, toothed foliage...", since mine is not close to the ground and isn't "dense".

If ellacombianus is the height of mine then that may be the one.

I've had the kamtschaticum for many years and that is a ground hugger.

Thank you for your help!

Sorry, I don't. I can bring a piece to a local expert who has his own business and maybe he can put a name on it. If so, I'll report back.

Thank you Arlene, that way we can determine the identifying differences between the many that look so similar.

I can't wait either. I would like some kind of confirmation about the sedum around my pond. Is it kamtschaticus or??

I've posted it a couple of times before. It looks like kamtschaticus but here is the deal. It looks short and I measured its height at 6-7 inches (ruler straight down). But when I snoop down under I see that it is kind of laying on the ground and itself. I pulled one stem out and measured it at 14 inches in length. The only reason I need the name is I want to buy more and it needs to be the same. It looks so nice and fills in well (few weeds get through!). I want to fill an area in the front yard where I took out an ugly shrub.

It gets no water in the summer except for some minor over spray occasionally!

You should be able to tell from the blooms. Mine is quite large now, I need to get a new photo of it. It also cascades from the middle like Arlene's above photo.
