It was the same plant that I posted a comment and after I clicked finished both times, both disappeared into thin air.

When I reload the plant to see the comment, it isn't there, but I just looked on the main page and it's there three times.

(Guess I had to do it 3 times)

Finally, it's showing up on the plant page. How to get rid of the duplicates?

I look through the comments every night and delete all of the duplicates.

Only two of the three comments were identical, Marilyn. The third looked more like a rough draft. You added some information to the other two.

Is your computer running slow? If you get tired of waiting for a command to be executed and click the button again, the comment could appear twice (or three times, in this case).

Marilyn, I checked your recent comments from your profile and don't see any duplicates. Can you please link the plant in question?

I had the thread already open before you posted, left it open while looking with a new window for those duplicate comments and then came back and posted. In the meantime you had fixed things and posted.

Also, isn't there also a bit of time between when a comment is submitted, while it goes through approval by a Moderator, and then is posted to the plant entry on the database?

Comments aren't moderated Elaine so they should show up immediately.

Ah, I thought zuzu said she was reading each one, editing etc. Must have been data entries I was thinking of.

@Zuzu checks spelling,... I believe, after they're posted. We don't edit content. Actually I have edited content when a member asked me to do so.

I want to assure everyone that I don't change the content of the comments. I just look for typos and for missing punctuation marks that could obscure the meaning.
