The daylily award (L. Ernest plouf award for Fragrance) is not listed in the daylily database. Also I think that the Honorable Mention and the Award of Merit awards should be fliped so that they are ranked from highest to lowest.

The L. Ernest Plouf Award was discontinued in 2004 and I guess that's why we never included it. I don't mind adding it on but there were only 24 winners total.

2003 - LAVENDER BLUE BABY
2002 - SHIMMERING ELEGANCE
2001 - ELEGANT CANDY
2000 - CHANCE ENCOUNTER
1999 - DENA MARIE
1998 - WINEBERRY CANDY
1997 - RASPBERRY CANDY
1996 - FROSTED PINK ICE
1995 - GINGHAM MAID
1994 - LEMON LOLLYPOP
1993 - VANILLA FLUFF
1991 - SILOAM SPIZZ
1990 - SMOKY MOUNTAIN AUTUMN
1989 - GOLDEN SCROLL
1988 - CHORUS LINE
1987 - EVENING BELL
1986 - HUDSON VALLEY
1985 - SILOAM DOUBLE CLASSIC
1984 - SILOAM MAMA
1983 - IDA MILES
1982 - SILOAM DOUBLE ROSE
1981 - FROZEN JADE
1980 - TENDER LOVE
1979 - WILLARD GARDNER

Does anyone else have an opinion on the matter?

The Award of Merit award is ranked higher than the Honorable Mention. It should be the: Stout, Award of Merit, then the Honorable Mention.

I'm not a big daylily fan, so I don't know much about the awards. Since it is discontinued you would not need any type check off box in the database, but I do think you should add it to those few that have already earned it.

I agree also. I would like to see the L. Ernest Plouf Award in the db.

Thanks for bringing these 2 items up Jon. Thumbs up

Another thing I was thinking about was adding magic textboxes for the awards for the years they were won. What do you all think of this?

Magic textboxes? Do you mean where you hover & the text comes up telling you the year?

I think that's a great idea!

The magic textbox is where when you check off the option, it then adds a little text field below it where you can enter new information. Like the "Other" where you check off other and then type under it whatever you wanted to add.

Actually, I've been thinking about this & instead of magic text boxes, why don't we just put the year right next to the award? Seems logical to me & then no one has to hover or anything; it's just right there in your face.

When you are submitting a data proposal and you select the "other" you type in the other, so so we would use this for the year the awards was won. It would show it as "award":year.
