I think we will see some really neat fun new patterns in the years to come in the Luminata/ Plicata breeding. I saw some amazing colors in them that I didn't think possible especially the plicatas most are still needing years of work before they are ready to be introduced because they lack bud count/ branching or maybe slow growers but Wow they have come along way and made some good progress with these that I'm sure 20 years ago was thought of as impossible.
I am really looking forward to some of my own plicata crosses and working with them in the future very exciting to see all the different color patterns they can throw can you imagine coming outside in the spring and finding something like these in your seedling patch Here are some pictures of a few that stood out from different gardens and caught my attention as different than anything else on the market. I did not see a fire engine red luminata anywhere but they are certainly getting some bright red spots to show up in the falls on some of them. I think Paul Black's work towards adding Red has been incredible maybe a few more generations something will show up even brighter.
Wow, those are gorgeous!! It will be fun to see these (or their babies) as they get introduced. I'm adding my thanks to you for taking the time to share!!
Thanks everybody !! I'm glad you like the pictures more to come. I spend the majority of my time looking at seedlings this spring was fun to get a glimpse into the future and see what could be coming.
Oh my gosh.. that 8th one took my breath away.. I wouldn't care if the branch had only one flower.. Stunning.. Thanks for sharing those, Brad... great to see what the future may hold.
The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us.
If all of those got introduced in one year, I'd have to take out a second mortgage so I could buy them all! I don't think I could resist any of them! They are all tens on the Rob's drool scale!
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
