Love your signature line, Alan.
Sometimes I wonder what is takes to be an oft quoted person. Lots of writing for starters I guess. Wisdom helps.

haha...I found this but that still doesn't say if it was an original quote from somewhere else.

From the 2003 movie Uptown Girls: Ray: "Every story has an end. But in life, every ending is just a new beginning."

I was looking for a photo and found several old one's I'd forgotten about. I don't know the source of this quote but loved the poster. It made me think of the one we were discussing, Alan.

Lori,
Hi! Thanks for stopping by. My Mimosa is a volunteer. I once had a 20 yr old tree in the yard but the previous owner cut it down. I've had volunteers popping up at various time over the last few years. I finally decided to let one grow and become a tree. They grow really fast at first. My little tree hasn't bloomed yet but my neighbor's tree had just finished blooming. I can get some seeds for you if you don't mind waiting. If not... oh, back to your question. I don't know if you an start from cuttings. Worth a try. Do you have a tree or are you near a tree that you can try? Might be a good idea to try several methods at the same time so you don't waste time waiting for method #1 failure, etc. Good luck! and let me now if you'd like seeds should they appear.

I appreciate the seed offer - I have had the regular mimosa trees at different places over the years. I don't have one here thank goodness! I love them but they are messy!
I have a chocolate one in my yard now, I was going to offer to either send a cutting or try to start one for Desertdenial if someone knew if it could be done. The chocolate doesn't or at least hasn't been a problem; no seedlings. It does look awful, the original trunk was eaten by a huge doberman pinscher. It doesn't perform well but I love it anyway. In another year or two, it will be trained to be sort of a bush.

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing I am used to grown men begging...been with DH a long time! I don't now anything about this, I just have a couple of small branches that have to go at some point. Do you want to wait for it to cool down before we attempt this? Do you want me to just send the cutting or do you want me to try and root it first?

You tell me, all I have is the tree...no knowledge!

Oh, so far it hasn't set seed so cuttings are the only option at this point. Of course we had a very short bloom time this year do to the heat, maybe this fall??

I did not realize the chocolate would come true from seed. Alan have you looked for a source?
