I just got a note from a member of orchids, hawkarica, who said he can't save his changes in his profile. . I said I'd ask.
Here's what he wrote:
"I tried to update my profile on ATP by putting in my zone and birthday but when I click the save info button, it deletes the new info and puts me back to square one. What's up with that?"

Also can you explain the "number of posts" preference. Do we all set that individually?

When you change anything in your profile, you must click on "save changes" at the bottom for the changes to "stick". Sometimes that little button hides Smiling

The number of posts can be set by the individual. I set mine to 20, preferring to page through posts. Some like 100, preferring to scroll. The majority of threads aren't 100 posts long, though some are.

Trish, I tried to add by birthday and zone yesterday and it wouldn't save for me either. I just tried it again and clicked save changes and it didn't save.

I already told Dave that on another thread. He seems to think it may be IE related.

It's definitely a problem with Internet Explorer. Everyone who has reported it is using MSIE.

I will eventually fix the problem. It's just not convenient for me to test with IE because I don't run Windows.

I'll find out about his browser and tell him what you said. I ditched IE before cubits and can't imagine going back.

Okay, I have re-done the preferences system and confirmed that it now works in older browsers (particularly IE). Nobody should have trouble saving their profile anymore.
