Dedicated macro lenses can be expensive, but there are a variety of other methods to shoot close-up photos using the lens(es) you already have, paired with inexpensive accessories. This article examines and illustrates some of these methods.

This article was pretty long and some of the techniques are arguably annoying (or at least labor-intensive). To prove that shooting decent closeups can be point-and-shoot easy, I started this thread in the photography forum. Everything auto, no photoshop...just point and shoot (and post, post, post)!!
