How wonderful Teresa. I can't wait to see the toolbox planted next spring. I know it will be beautiful with the bounty of plants from Bev, and your touch of arranging them. Hurray!

If I use an old metal toolbox, do you think I will need to line it or will it be ok with just soil? It shouldn't need a lot of watering with succulents. I don't have much experience with them. I did have a small hanging pot of donkey's tail as a child Smiling

Funny how somethings stick in your mind.

I would line the box with coir because the metal is going to heat up in the sun. They usual have the coir hanging basket liners in the dollar stores. So for a dollar you would have a good liner to buffer the heat from the metal.

Bev it a jewel to send you cuttings. Getting plants in the mail can really make your day a very good day. Good luck with your new plants. You will soon be hooked.

Been away from the computer for a few day with Mom. Yes, that is a good idea. I have one older, ratty looking one that I could use next Spring for this project.

Do you ever line them with a plastic bag? I am guessing that succulents would not need the extra moisture.

If you have a ratty one that is good too. No I do not use plastic because it would hold to much water in the pot and the sucs would rot and die. They will need the drainage and that coir really lets water run through.
