I hardly believe this myself, but we are traveling along the Oregon Coast, and look at what I found today...

Those are pretty. Have a nice time going along the coast. Beautiful day for that. Think we broke a record for the warmest on this day.

At least there is water on the Oregon Coast...well, maybe a lot of it. I am so tired of the hot dry summers. It is time for a change. I hope that the primroses that you gave me are still alive when we return, as I plan to move them along with some other select plants.

Glad you still have them. How far up the coast are you going?

We are not sure yet...maybe all the way to Astoria, and then if we are not totally exhausted, we are interested in Port Townsend.

The drive up the west side of Puget Sound to Port Townsend is also quite lovely - I'd avoid going anywhere near Tacoma/Seattle unless you have a fondness for stop/go traffic.

I have visited both places a lot as my son lived there and moved about quite a bit. Has relatives in the Squim area. I have imagined moving there and read avidly about gardening and weather in all parts of western Washington and Oregon. Eastern sounds too dry and hot. I don't suppose it will ever happen. DH is soooooo staunchy uber-conservative in his politics it affects where he would live. Rolling on the floor laughing Sighing!

Oh, well, not like I am looking at a 50 year horizon. Angel Hilarious!

Ha! Your DH would feel right at home in this area. Sighing!
It's really only hot for a few weeks in the summer, at least in our little corner of the world. Get much below Spokane and yes, it's dry and hot. But the long winters get a bit old. We have a number of people in our area who moved here from Alaska, including our next door neighbors.
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.

Oh. Last names. We might know them. Course we don't live in Fairbanks anymore where one time we knew about everyone or knew OF someone who knew them.

I think our neighbors moved here from Homer or thereabouts. It was a while back, tho. Holbeck. And their friends who do (or did) glasswork also moved into the general area a few years ago.

I wouldn't know any Homer people. Knew a stained glass worker in Fairbanks years ago.
