This was in a container of mixed succulents and sedums and I'd love to know its name. These have since been repotted and I can take more photos if that would help.

It's the one in the foreground, with the buds, that I'd like to identify:

I wonder if it could be a Delosperma (Ice Plant)? Ice Plant (Delosperma cooperi)

I don't think so; the texture of it is tougher and more firm than the ice plant I've encountered, though it does look similar!

I am going to try to get a better picture of this one tomorrow; also it has an issue with the stems that I'm hoping to find out how to remedy.

Lin, I looked at a bunch of pictures of Delosperma last night and now I think you may have nailed it. I took another picture that shows some of the details that have me confused, but now I think the way the leaves look may be due to the stress the plant was experiencing (which I hope to have resolved!)

I wouldn't rule out Senecio yet. Those buds look like they'll pop open soon...

I agree with Tiffany at this point. The buds don't look like any of the delosperma I have.

Green Grin!

We wait for the blooms, I guess! Thanks everyone for helping investigate this.

I agree! The shape is right for Delosperma, but I've never seen any with those ridges/veins before, and the buds should be larger in comparison to the leaves.

Thanks! Yes, it is the ridges or veins that puzzled me too.

My friend who gave me these plants was just visiting and I showed her the new arrangement. She says that the one in question is definitely not an ice plant, and she described the flowers as large and said they produce seeds that fluff out like dandelions and fly all over the place. Huh!

That sure sounds like what Tiffany suggested, senecio. They have that type of bloom. There are number of different senecio.

I'm wondering if it could be this: Blue Chalksticks (Kleinia repens) Looking at some pictures in our database, these look more like (a healthy version of) what I've got than anything else I've seen yet.

This is the picture, by @ge1836, that made me think it might be what I have:

Actually, I think this may already have been suggested in another thread. Ooops! Still waiting for one of these buds to open here.

no... and my cat pulled up the likeliest segment to bloom. :(

This is going to have to wait for a while, until some of the plant re-establishes itself enough to produce more buds and then to flower.

Thanks for asking, though!

I totally agree with Tiffany and others ... it sure looks more like Kleinia, Senecio is a synonym for some of the Kleinia.

Good eye Tiff!

Wudn me did it! Green Grin!

I think I am going to settle on Chalksticks unless demonstrated otherwise, because it looks more like that than any of the other possibilities. Now I just hope I can revive it. Between having been overwatered, and then being pawed and chewed by my cat, it's had a hard road. Whistling

I don't think it's Chalksticks, your bloom buds are pointed at the tips, and your leaves look thinner and actually 'cupped' or 'scooped' shaped.
