Other than the "Snow-birds", I didn't know y'all even had warm coats, much less hats!

He says as I'm sitting here in TWO long sleeve shirts. And while outside this morning had my mittens, fleece line jacket and beenie pulled down over my ears.

Anything below 60º requires major wardrobe adjustments.

Well, I'm glad SOME parts of Ca. are getting some rain. Our chances of "scattered showers" are 10% Thurs. and 30% Thurs. night, so I'm not holding my breath. Snow in the Sierras would sure help our water problems though.

Ah, Ken, you forget most of us came from places that have winter. I have wonderful ski gear that has hardly seen outside the closet in 13 years. Some of it even still fits!!

We were down in Key West in January a few years ago when a cold front reached all the way down there. You should have seen the assortment of garb walking the streets. People walking around with blankets and old, moth-eaten sweaters on. Hilarious. I mean the people down there are normally hilarious but this went beyond.

I can just picture the scene in Key West. We get plenty of cold weather here in NE Mississippi, but S. Florida is a whole difference ballgame. The snow-birds might not even bother to bring warm clothing when they all migrate south.

I still have my winter gear with me..since I lived before in Canada. And we sometimes visit Yosemite off season, in January, we need those snow jackets and mitts. And if we visit my mom in MA around the Christmas holidays, got to have those snow gear handy.

Speaking of which..we were at the North Face outlet store last weekend in Berkeley...lots of people buying their winter jackets and fleece..time for that cold season gear

My wife was born and reared in Fresno. I visited Yosemite with her once (three decades ago!) and it was gorgeous. It was summer though, dry and warm. We need to go back one day.

It was funny when we went there in Jan 2007, we were thinking we were overdressed with our snow jacket and all. It was sunshiny and balmy nice here in the valley. We chose to join a van tour since we do not like putting chains on our car. But as we went up there in Yosemite, it was snowing there, quite cold too. The people who joined us in the tour were all wearing very light spring jackets..they just cannot bear it. And we were just toasty warm!
