I have a couple of patches of Star of Bethlehem that come back every year and it has spread somewhat into the grass. I like it better than the violets, so it doesn't bother me. At least not just yet! But I do hate anything that becomes invasive, so this will probably be one of those on my "dislike" list in years to come. Kind of like Muscari (grape hyacinths), I have grown to hate them.

Now that surprises me. I really like grape hyacinth and it just does NOT want to grow here.

Muscari pops up everywhere here. Very difficult to get all the little bulblets.

Uuuuggg...Violets. I've got those everywhere too. I made the mistake of leaving them the first few years, thinking they're pretty so they can stay. Big mistake! I worked really hard throughout 2014 on digging those buggers out. I've never had Muscari become a problem, I love them. They increase, but I haven't found them in the lawn or far from where I planted them.

Oh, dear. You can just ship those violets over here, too. Smiling

Violets are very invasive here (cen Ill).
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.

Winter lasts forever!!

Also I live in a townhouse right now so I don't get to plant in the ground, I have to do it all in containers. That's not so much a zone problem but I want to complain about it anyway because I can't grow some of the stuff I want!

Oh Alex, that is definitely a valid complaint.

I agree, too -- having to do all your gardening in containers definitely has some limitations... but on the upside, Alex, a lot of things actually grow better for me in containers, and no matter where we garden there's always something we can't grow. Smiling

Never thought of that Sandy, very good point. Always had too much shade in CA, so thought when i moved to TX, wow, look at all that sun!!!!! We have heat problems now.
