Maybe a Gasteria? Close relative of the Aloes. The bloom reminds me of a Haworthia that bloomed here, but isn't quite right. Google shows some Gasteria blooms that look similar to this. Just guessing.

I agree, it reminds me of Gasteria or possibly Gasterole (x Gasterole): https://www.google.com/search?...

The bloom stalk did not develop correctly, because of the plant being in a very low light situation.
I think we are on the right track with Gasteria.
The growth pattern and description of this gasteria. The photo doesn't show the dark green leaf edge trim.

A pretty nice closeup of gasteria blooms for a comparison can be seen here:

Thank you for the link Donald. Those blooms look very close to mine. Some of the blooms show the gastric swelling.

It does look like a Gasteria bloom....similar looking blooms with my Gasteria armstrongii and Aloe gasteria hybrid.

Maybe it is the one called Gasteria 'Frosty' or Gasteria glomerata...see this page from Arid Lands: http://www.aridlands.com/catal...

Thank you for the link tarev. Love that site, I've bookmarked it.
So far it seems more of a match with 'Frosty'. Now I need to learn how to care for it.

It looks like a gasteraloe...cross between aloe and gasteria...I have one that looks like that, but I haven't seen it bloom yet so I'm not sure!

Thank you Kate.
Since I posted this thread the leaves have taken on a little more color. I think it will be at least a year before I can be sure of what it is. In the spring I will take another photo of it.

It 'appears' to have Gasteria obtusifolia in it (bright green, with a blueish haze on the leaves, some texture, toothy edges), maybe a cultivar of it?

Gasteria Silver Ice looks possible but this is the only pic I can find .. I can't see if it has 'toothy edges'.

There's a long list of Gasteria with photos on this site but none look to match it ..

Great links Janet.
As you can see, the one I have does have the toothy edges, it also has a dark green leaf edge which really sets off the icy green base color of the leaves.

After investingating I can definitely say that it is not Gasteraloe 'Green Ice'. http://www.succulents.us/gasth...
Thumb of 2014-11-30/valleylynn/4fdbe5

G. 'Silver Ice' sure looks like a match in leaf shape and color. There are so many hybrids out there, I may never know the name of this one.
I agree that it looks to be related to Gasteria obtusifolia.
