For those of your that receive the APS bulletin and live in more Southern climes there are a couple of new cultivars that were registered that would be good for you. Part of the registration "Recommended for landscape use only in regions that do not experience hash cold fronts during spring warm up". Perhaps Don H. can provide some additional information since they are new ones of his.

I have long been of the mindset that there should be a way to provide information on which peonies, probably other plants, that are more succeptable to colder temperatures and at which time they are more succeptable.

Thank you. Smiling Diana Parks is a wonderful peony. Smiling But Red Charm's bloom is twice as big. Instead of playing on here I should have been out weeding and weeding some more. But it rained last night and now the gnats are out in force. Nasty little monsters.

Just another one of my off the wall suggestions is reds last longer if they have partial shade such as beyond the drip line on the north side of a tree to the house. Try to plant so that you can see the sky overhead but the plant is in shade. You may not get as many blooms but they tend to last longer.

I realized the other day that I have become much to arrogant in my posting so will be trying to tone it down. Hubby was asking a question and my answer came out full of bull sounding.
