Got the book proofs for my beardless iris book. they look great. It should be published in MAY now.

Actually I was on P. Allen Smith's show about 15 years ago doing a demonstration on daylily hybridizing! He was a good interviewer although we had a HAIL STORM and a near tornado the night before they came to film. I was lying in my bath tub as the tornado sirens were going off thinking that the damaged flowers were about to make national TV! At 5AM I went through the yard, picked off all the damaged blossoms and we shot the film!

After seeing Eddy's photo I think it needs to go in the semp book. Wish i had one of Helen too.

OK, I admit it, I just ordered it from Amazon, even though I said I would not order anything more this year.

That is where I got mine from Marilyn. I keep going back to it for information. Such a wonderful little book.

Yeah Helen would call each year before her catalog came out and send me the first one so I'd have a record of the new ones she was introducing for me. She would also call when the box arrived from me with the new hybrids.

Sadly we never met, although I knew Ed Skrocki and Bill Nixon and of course Polly Bishop and Patty Drown, who were neighbors.

My page proofs just arrived for my beardless iris book (192 pages!!) so I have my work cut out for the next few days. good news is that the proofs are very clean so it's very small corrections!

OK back to the proofing....
