Think I have this terminology correct: Escalona was the pod parent and an unknown PCI was the pollen parent.
Here is Escalona (don't look, Rob!) @UndertheSun

Sherry,

I noticed a old message with you asking about the cold temperature they will take.I have seen a pdf on growing PCI from seeds. Mentions low temperature of -10 not +10.

Oh, I'd have to scroll back to look, but I don't think It was me who wondered about the temperature. I've grown them for many years... I've had other problems... Gophers mainly, but the lowest we've gotten here is probably the low 20's, with high 20's being typical most years. I have some that are wimpier growers than others, and I will admit to killing some in containers, but that was most likely forgetfulness with watering.
I'm hoping to add some more this year....just as soon as I get those tall beardeds planted..... Sticking tongue out

Oh my goodness -- those are just beautiful. Good thing I can't grow them here or I'd have another addiction to feed, and even more work that I can't manage............ Rolling my eyes.

Make sure Rob doesn't look at those. Remember he doesn't want to see them. Besides they are so amazing it might set of an entirely new addiction. Hilarious!

Sherry, the iris is Iris laevigata variegata by Tubergen 1916. I took the picture at the Mount Pleasant Iris Farm this last spring during the Siberian Convention in Portland. Here's the flower. I don't know if Chad Harris lists it for sale.
