I was right: exactly 35 jugs, so far. We had a little snowfall too, but it's all melted off now, the picture is from this morning.

As for the whole packet of seeds thing, some things I think I am going to sow more of because I want to be able to cover fairly good-sized areas with certain plants, and have some to plug into holes and such.

I'm with Chelle, though, that first spring, and all subsequent springs when I've done winter sowing, was magical. Even now, it's exciting to think about all the plants I'll have in just a few months, wow!

AND still (this will be my 10th year wintersowing), I love finding those spring sprouts. They're so much more rewarding than indoors-under-lights seedlings- in that it's Mother Nature's signal that spring is soon to arrive.

Well the plan was to sow some jugs today. But I ended up in the ER for three hours over night (I'm okay). Then when I got home and to sleep my husband's work phone that he forgot kept ringing Grumbling and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. So I have no energy to sow today. I managed to drag in my soil mix to warm up. Maybe later I will pick out what seeds I will do tomorrow

Thanks all! They aren't sure why I'm having core pain but they ruled out scary stuff. I'll be ok. Just tired!

Maybe after a nap I'll prep my jugs. I'm also going to use a few two liters since I so far gave limited jugs

Yay! Our third grade Learning Fair project is done! On the computer, no less. Blinking It's sometimes still amazes me that my confidence with all things computer only blossomed after joining in with this group of gardeners. A very lovely bonus, I say!

Hurray! Now, it's my turn to start a (seedy Big Grin ) project! Hilarious!

Hope you're back to 100% in short order, Jennifer. Group hug

Judy, @SCButtercup, I buy spring or distilled water in jugs from the grocery store, that's where I get my containers. It's very cheap and I figure I can always use the water for something, right?

I have a few containers of vermiculite sown seeds outside. Our weather is so funny here, warm days, cold nights, but others in my garden club say they are successful with WS so I'm trying it.

Found some containers and also did something I'd never tried before: when I ran out of plastic soda bottles, milk jugs and takeout food containers, WS'd in traditional domed seed starting tray. All are secured with duct tape to keep out rain, now just wait. Going away later in the week to DM for some hot weather and beach while my seeds bask in the cold.
