I got my "pile" of seeds from Jen yesterday! Holy cow, it's a HUGE pile!

Some of the seeds I sowed in vermiculite have already germinated! Plectranthus barbatus (Indian coleus), Dianthus barbatus, petunias, one mystery seed (not the one I posted a question about though), my rhubarb, one artichoke and the cucumbers for the greenhouse.

Hey all, ok was just working on organizing a list of what I had goin on this year so here it is, some was written for this board and some was just my personal notes, I'd like to hear from anyone who has experience with these either growing inside or wintersowing, in particular on the seeds I have listed at the bottom which are new to me. I'm using Hydrofarm germination station kits for starting stuff indoors, I have 5 kits, 72 cells each, all with domes & heat mats, these kits are cheap and have worked great! I only use gal milk jugs for wintersowing, we go thru a gal in a day and a half here so they pile up quick! And the more I have the more i'm tempted to sow!! I put the gals in milk crates so they are protected and move around well, I have about 16 crates full, so ya around 64 milk jugs, as much as I want everything to germ and grow well, i'm not sure I have space for all of that!!! May need a topsoil delivery to help create some new garden areas! I thought this was suppost to be an easy & cheap gardening method, i'm buying more seeds than I know what to do with and I will most likely need that topsoil delivery!! Hahaha! Is there a seedaholics board here? Am I on it?? Lol, ok here we go...

Coneflower (Cheyene Spirit) indoors- started one and a half 72 cell trays of saved & purchased seed, great germ rate
Coneflower (Sandy Yellow) indoors- started 6 cells of saved seed, all germinated & growing great
Coneflower (Pow Wow Wild Berry) indoors- started 6 cells, 2 germinated, may do better w/ wintersowing-stratify?
Coneflower (Sunset) indoors- about a half of 72 cell tray
Coneflower (Firebird) indoors- a few germinated, still early to tell on rest
Coneflower (white) (wintersown)
Coneflower (old school purple) (wintersown)

Dahlia - started two 72 cell trays of saved seeds from named variety dahlias, I enjoy the suspense & mystery of what type & colors of flowers i'll get!
Dahlia Dandy Mix (want to start some indoors but will direct sow as well)
Cypress Vine (direct sow)
Gaillardia Sundance Bicolor (wintersown - annual here, started indoors 2 out of 6 cells germinated, does better winter sowing I guess, had great success wintersowing last year)

Statice Apricot Beauty (wintersown)

Cosmos Double Click (direct sow)

Sunflower Italian White
(may not use sunflowers this year, doing lots of herbs that i'll have to put in the spot picked out for sunflower
and they get eaten by something as soon as the blooms are fully open and then I get mad!)
Sunflower Autumn Beauty Mix

Cardinal Flower Red (Lobelia cardinalis)
(hmm not sure, may have wintersowed? didnt keep a good list of what I wintersowed duh,

OMG, just when I thought I had pretty much every seed known to humankind after Ella's Piggy Seed Swap on Cubits... apparently not!!

Most of my seeds are veggies, and I planted my onion seeds about a week ago and they are sprouting so I am very happy about that!

I spent about half the day trying to track down a bean that I got on the swap, 'Heilig Boontje' -- finally found that it is also called 'Saint-Esprit à Oeil rouge,' which was already in the database here. Smiling (On the downside: I can't pronounce it either way; apparently it translates to something like "Holy Bean," which is close enough for me..)

Celene - Very sorry to hear about the house fire, thats one of my biggest fears, and we hear about it way too often even just in our town and state, and it scares the heck out of me, I assume everyone is ok which is good, hope you didn't loose anything that you can't replace, scary stuff
