Just back from dinner at Marco Polo and had a wonderful time seeing old friends and new! We all commented that "we need Paddy here too" so I hope you can do it next year. The weather is phenomenal. 72F and not a cloud in the sky! the weather gods have definitely smiled down upon us. We'll let the out-of-towners think this is an every day thing here in Oregon!

The rest of the group will be at Lynn's in the AM and I'l be fixing lunch for the crew here. Should be fun.

The mystery guest is revealed as Sedum breeder extraordinaire Chris Hansen and he will be sharing his breeding and marketing experience with this group during the session tomorrow. today he and i went through the seedlings and HIS JAW DROPPED as he said "I have NEVER SEEN SEMPS LIKE THESE BEFORE"! The exercises for the class should be fun.

I am going to look up more info on Chris and his sedums. Still hoping for lots of pictures. Whistling

We had breakfast at Patty's house this morning before heading to Dancing Oaks Nursery. What a day this has been.

Patty has the most beautiful yard and interesting way to display her semps, growing among iris, bulbs, sedum , anemones, and so much more. I could have spent the entire day there.

I'm missing a bunch of people, so sorry. I got into looking at plants and forgot to take more photos.
Some of the others were taking photos so hope they can fill in the gaps.

What a most wonderful day this was, and tomorrow it takes off where we left off. Hurray!

No rhyme or reason for taking these pics...I'm not much of a recorder of events.

Our "cub reporter" Lynn will be documenting today's events too. She has declined from being a group leader in the class so she can take more photos!

To all of those who missed this year, get ready for next year's! This is a fantastic group of people!

I'm making another batch of chowder this morning and getting the test questions set up for the class. I'm betting the students do great!

I am so glad to get to see these pictures. Hurray! You all seem to be having a great time. Now the main course at Kevin's. A full menu of Semps, Iris, Sempis, etc etc etc. I have been looking at pictures from last year and know his yard is full of shining jewels. Have a great time folks. Wish I was there. Hurray! Hurray!

Did you have to take a boat to Dancing Oaks?

Marilyn, it looks like they took the Buena Vista Ferry across the Willamette River. Bridges are few and far between.

I lead the car caravan from Patty's to Dancing Oaks. I was scared to death I would screw it up. One thing I had forgotten about was the two miles of dirt road from the highway to D.O. Think of it as a very long one lane dirt driveway where if a car is coming the other way someone has to pull off and there were few places to do that.

I just love love love that photo of Julia peaking out of the bamboo forest!

Thanks for the info Connie, guess they were just taking a side trip huh? So many great photos of you all. You can just see the fun you are having. I am sorry you have to miss the clinic but hope we will get more info on what they shared. Especially the new info from Chris Hansen. We all love sedums too, don't we. Sedums and semps go toghether like peanut butter and jelly Rolling on the floor laughing but I don't want them on a sandwich Blinking

Just back from Robert's Crossing. TOTALLY AWESOME day and I think the class went over wonderfully. Each year the students are understanding more and more and asking better and better questions.

Also people are filling LONG wish lists for seedlings for the future. I'll let the others tell you of their favorite plants and moments.

They are all such WONDERFUL PEOPLE. i miss them already!

Kevin
