No show here, only ask:

Does anyone have a bud count for BLACK PLUSH?

Any help would be appreciated.

Black Friar ( I think Confused ) I found this one growing in a row that was reclaimed by the lawn. DM forgot they were there or assumed they were dead. I discovered them while mowing after moving back. They were mowed over like so much grass for who knows how many years. I relocated them to a bed and are now happy as clams.

I have also added Barbara Mitchell, Bermuda Coral, Big Smile and Blackberries and Cream but they have yet to bloom.

Buttered Popcorn definitely stands out, even though for me it doesn't bloom much, in terms of number of buds/blooms and duration of bloom. It's never rebloomed for me, at least not enough to be memorable.

One thing I've noticed is how greatly its color differs from year to year. Some years it's golden, bordering on orange. Other years it's a clear yellow and I have trouble telling it apart from Treasure Room.

I guess this could be caused by different amounts of rain, sun, warmth, etc. In my case, the plants are in pots...and not the best pots at that. It's one cultivar I'll be repotting this spring...or just planting in the ground. I think it'd be a nice counterpoint for Ruby Spider.

Anyhoo...have you seen this phenomenon with Buttered Popcorn in your gardens, @hazelcrestmikeb, @blue23rose, and @petruske?

Hardy hibiscus are a hobby, but daylilies are an obsession.
