This patch in Intelaken, Switzerland was superb. There were so many colours.

I saw this banner & just HAD to see who had taken it. Most excellent Dinu! It wasn't the colors alone that captivated me but the differing textures too.

Another vote for the beautiful colors! And the lovely variety of blooms. Especially nice to see in these frigid below 0 temps! Lovey dubby

Thanks a lot. In fact, I chose this portion for its colours and variety. It was in 2009 and I had only a couple of SD cards that were I think 2 GB each. Can one go with such small volumes to such a place? No. But that is all I had. So what I did to save card space was to reduce the image size in the camera. As such, many of my pictures from lovely locations turns out to be low resolution Sad Sad This one I had set it to medium. As such, some sharpness had to be sacrificed.
When I see other banners which are still very sharp I wonder how they manage to get such a clarity in the 150 pixel height. Is there any trick that I may be missing? I went by the tutorial that is available on the right, but that is all what I am getting.
Here is the full image of that lovely flowerbed in Interlaken, Switzerland.
The other picture is of the hotel we stayed.... this is from google earth when I was taking a street view. I also have the photo I took.

Ditto! Took my breath away! As for photography, I have a good eye, but fall down on the more complicated concepts, and sometimes, I just get lucky! Big Grin

Dinu, I shoot in high resolution, only way to have any chance of clarity for banners. Most of the declined ones are due to fuzziness, blurriness and pixelation. I wear glasses and if I feel like I have to take them off to clean them, it's too fuzzy. Green Grin!
Some are still approved though if they have an overall artsy quality about them. nodding

Thanks. For me, that trip was quite something. After my return, you know what? I used to get very pleasing dreams continuously for nearly 20 days of me being there in Switzerland.... so many lovely dreamy scenes kept appearing and I would get up refreshed! While there for 9 days, I could not sleep properly too. Often we used to get up 4 am and that allowed me just 2-3 hours of sleep, also thanks to my room partner who snored away happily! Smiling

Calif, I was in doubt whether my picture would lose its points on sharpness as I knew very well images posted by others were far sharper. But I have found a trick now to get the best out of the width I got from my cam. Normally it is the max. 3572 x something. So In Switz I had set it lower to get more pictures - they were 2500 something x something. So I could reduce this to 2400 and reduce in % by 50 to get 1200. I'll post a few soon, but from another Indian location. On my Swiss tour, I later found out that why and how my friend who took every scene and still managed to keep the same card blank! He was downloading them to another friend's laptop!! Later, I too requested him to download mine and in the second half of the trip, I was able to get more space in the cards.

I'm really enjoying this banner thing. Reducing to 150 high still remains a challenge.
