Hi friends I tip my hat to you. We Opened the Lily show today , with Judith Freeman in attendance. Can I say , I read into the 'aura' of all the replies that you all sent me & seriously can say, I am a much more fulfilled person than yesterday Thumbs up .. Judith is a really great person , really interested in Australian breeding, Really appreciated the 40 minute stroll of the blooms[not long enough] , .. Really appreciated our advancement in 'Darker' Henryi breeding- especially 'deep orange crosses' & my miniature Madame Butterfly X Madame Butterfly , Backcross seedling.. We talked of crosses with ' Grenadier '& its fertility, , & the dark orange 'Cameron X Henryi' which she strives to breed in the future.. .. Interesting 'FACT' Lankon grows identically!! Confused Blinking Its differences are all to do with where & how it is grown.. [So Darth Vader Strain ] is a myth.. I have a lot to add, & please bear with me for pics ''' AS SOON as I can'''''''.. Judith said , ''this is a fine Show'' , I said , ''Well we try hard'' .. she said ''well you are trying very well'''.. & Tracey , High regards to you , from our discussion Thumbs up .. I told her , I was growing your seedlings & showed her 'Ortega X Fanfare'', when she told me of her appreciation of your efforts! Thumbs up .. From the 'RAMSHACKLE' that I walked into , this morning , To the head full of clouds , this afternoon, Sighing! Sighing! Sighing! Sighing! 'I FEEL GOOD'

It's been so wonderful to see some of our lilies through Judith's eyes and learn from her amazing depth of experience. I just wish we could have had (and given) more time. Judith said she hasn't been able to attend major shows for a long time because of her summer workload. So seeing two shows full of new and interesting lilies is a real treat! It felt great to be part of providing such a feast.

(I haven't worked through my pics yet either....)

I have never "met" Judith, but we have worked together in the name of lilies. What an amazing turn of events for all of you to have Judith there. And Anthony your words today made my day. Smiling Thank you so much.

Seeing only part of the show, it's still very clear how successful the this year's operation is. Despite the heat you've been having down there, I don't see heat stress on most of those lilies. I especially expected to see it Kushi Maya, but no.

We normally have few individual florets in our Minnesota shows, too, and now that I see them in mass this time, one big drawback really makes an impact: you never know what the real orientation of the blooms are.

The champion stem is glorious perfection.

What a show!!! And what a sterling effort to bench at least 90 entries Anthony.Congratulations to all who made a show possible.Nice clean blooms too. It's amazing how the Northern Marauders get their blooms there, considering how (far) they drive. The Fielders have always been a force to reckon with. Was Brian Dutton there and were there many brown seedlings, I spotted two, and more interesting, were there any reds? Was Rod able to bench anything?Any species?Tangos seem to be out of fashion?

Great to have it confirmed that Van Dieman Bulbs will be importing Judith Freeman's bulbs.

"" Judith would make a good Diamond Farmer.. She could spot a fake in 1 glance. . " haha me thinks it is the Leichlinii impostor???

Nice photo to cherish of yourself with Judith, Anthony.
