Heavenly Gardens: (Gossard, James) 2014 introduction (Fire Sorceror) x (Sky Dragon) Tetraploid 68" Mid season Dormant emo fr 5.5" 4-5 way branching 18-22 buds. Fertile both ways. Rebloomer. Flowers of Headhunter are red with a darker red eye zone with a yellow green throat. This is my tallest red to date, extremely rare to have such a tall red. I believe in zone 6 and 7 it may be another foot and a half taller. From past experience I have found this to be true. Could reach over 80 inches there. Scapes are super good not even falling over in our high wind conditions. Pods are difficult but pollen is easy. A very important parent for hybridizing tall reds with great color. Take a look at the pedigree, it has tetra I See Stars in it twice. It was merged with the Tet. Nutmeg Elf × Tet. Itsy Bitsy Spider genes. Nothing quite like it.
Measured 47" in 2020, 347 days after planting. At 23 months measured 66 inches and it is an early bloomer.
