Changing the subject (apologies) - - We've just got back from a big food shopping trip - which involved parking in an underground multi-storey in Monte Carlo. I used to get terrible static electricity shocks every time I pressed the button to get the parking ticket (same with the toll gates on the French motorways). But someone on this website, I don't remember who, said that if you touch metal when you press the button, you don't get the shock. I have been using this method ever since (some months now), just curling the fingers of my other hand over the edge of the window and onto the side panel of the car, and IT WORKS, IT REALLY, REALLY WORKS. So a huge thank-you to whoever it was, and a recommendation to anyone else who suffers from the static shock syndrome!
Wish I could remember who it was - I'd like to give him/her 5 acorns....
