There is an episode of "The Simpsons" written in the year 2000 which mentions president Trump. I can't believe they imagined this so many years ago. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/w...
Oh well, just think of it this way, even though we still haven't had a woman president, we now have a first "lady" who has already shown us her full frontal nudity! That's a first!

John was in the service before I knew him. He did his Masters work on the GI Bill. He could watch the North Koreans from the DMZ (later designation). He hit Korea the day the truce was signed.
The only funny story was while in Japan he went to the PX & bought a set of china with iris on them & shipped it home. It weighed 300 pounds. His parents were away & his Australian aunt had to go to the post office to collect it. Sort of an explosion when parents came home. John was out of the way helping man a searchlight (battlefield illumination) on a huge truck, so missed the wrath on Long Island.
I wonder if Mika has room? I can house sit which ever place they are not currently in residence. You know, tend the iris for them...... plant a few of my own....

back to the election for a minute: Bonnie we can do writes ins with our type of ballot & I was very tempted, but instead filled in the very minority party candidate. the only thing which made me feel better was being able to vote for neither of the 2 majority partys, It doesn't help much even when against both majors.

Sharlene, the more the merrier! Our weather in England is much milder than yours, I think - we're zone 8b. It does feel cold in winter and we get some frosts but we rarely get any snow - one short flurry last year, which didn't settle. And we don't have to protect roses/most of our other plants in winter (we do take in our pelargoniums and lemon tree, and wrap up the head of our standard bay, just in case).
How about a lovely Aussie holiday! We have a few international celebrities that call Australia home these days. Do you ever wonder what happened to Leo Sayer? I think Deborah Harry has a house here too.
I have always wanted to visit Australia, but haven't done so. There always seems to be too much in the way of taking an extended trip with all the animals to care for.

We live so far out in the country that the only way we have tv is to pay for satellite service. I cancelled it yesterday. Our new president spent 14 years as a reality show star - and I think that made him popular. Now I won't have to look at his orange face as much. We're reading more.
