Can anyone help identify or give a general idea of species? I would really like to know for climate hardiness considerations. It is a cutting from a friend's garden.

I'm good at identifying plants by comparing photos but check out these pictures in the database for Ghost Plant (Graptopetalum paraguayense)

Hopefully someone more familiar with succulents will be along soon with an exact ID for you.

Could also be the popular Graptoveria (XGraptoveria 'Fred Ives')

Thank you The Fred Ives is spectacular. I have been after one for ages but no luck so far (unless this is one but the colour isn't as vibrant). This species is so variable and changes colour all the time.

Between the sempervivum and the rosette succulents it can be darn near impossible to be 100% sure of anything. I was trying to go by petal number/shape/position but that's difficult as well.

Fred Ives gets nice coloring in the cold and warm weather, but usually only in full sun. It stays more green with less light.
