I had 1 rain day while I was in Salem so took the day and visited some Garden Centers and a Peony Farm located minutes from Schreiner's, Mid America, and Keppel's called Brooks Garden and it was really cool, Dad and I visited them a few years ago but it was not as established as this trip and not at peak like this time they now have a really good selection of Peonies and Historic Iris for sale. I enjoyed seeing there gardens again it is mix of mature Conifer's and different plants in a really cool Garden setting definitely worth a stop to visit during bloom season If you are going to the convention.
Breathtaking photos Brad!!! I'm especially enjoying seeing the conifers and other plantings that are interspersed in the garden. Those seedlings are gorgeous! The bright orchid/violet one in the 6th picture glows! Beautiful!! Thanks for taking the time to post Brad!!!
I finally got my yard work caught up berms are cleaned and weeded with snapshot down and now ready for bloom season. I have the weekend off from work so thought I would share some more pictures from the trip of Kieth and Barry's plants and some of the awesome seedlings growing there. I really enjoyed going through them all last year and can't wait to see his garden in bloom again this year and see the brand new seedlings opening Thought I would start with some of the plant's I added from him last year that are growing well for me and looked really good in Oregon.

I thought these looked really good last year and excited to see them at home in May !!
We Loved Barry's new intro's as well last year the new color patterns he has coming lately are amazing, when I see one that I really like I always stop and look up the pedigree to see where it came from and it is shocking how many different seedlings and plants went into making the one that actually got named and that is what makes them special there were quite a few that went on the want list after seeing them up close and personal in Kieth's garden.
I got there towards the late part of the season some of them were already finished so hopefully this year will get to see more of his newer intro's. I think Colour Bazaar was my favorite last year it looked to be growing well and stood out in the row amongst the others you can see why he choose that one for the cover of the catalog last year It will eventually find it's way to Iowa sometime in the future so many unique creations after looking at all of these you can tell Barry is having a lot of fun in the seedling patches.
Sherry.. We can never have enough Conifers here in the summer I don't notice them as much as through the fall and winter when everything else is gone and winter has set in they still give the garden interest.I wish I could get some of the different varieties I saw in Oregon but we are limited at home. I added quite a few Peonies last year what makes them nice is they bloom with the Iris and are very winter hardy hoping they put on a show in May at home.
Marilyn.. Thanks will be looking forward to your pictures
Tom.. It is Hand's down my favorite Plicata grows extremely well in Iowa and What a color noticed at Kieth's it is a good parent too that one is a definite must have for the garden !!
MaryAnn.. I really liked it too hopefully we will get to see it bloom in my garden this year.
