I have even been known to go barefoot in the snow when I lived in MS. It felt wonderful to my feet. I still on occasion will do that here in the PNW on the rare times we get snow. The grass and sidewalk still feel good to my feet, but I can no longer walk on gravel. : (

Grudgingly wearing shoes now. I grew up pretty much barefoot. Proud of my tough feet. I've found two scorpions in the house in the last several months, so now I'm not without my flip-flops.

Shoes all the time, except on the beach. I do wear sandals a lot in summer. At work, always gym shoes and socks.

My feet hurt without shoes.

I grew up going barefoot as much as I could, even though I was a city girl. I remember my mom trying to civilize me when I was about ten, and there were lots of places I could not go without shoes. Now I have an chronic ankle problem that demands good support, like New Balance shoes. Hate it, but I wear shoes even inside most of the time. I get the lightest NB shoes I can though, and even for working around the barn or riding, I don't wear boots.

Barefoot, of course, except in early morning garden walks; I hate squishy slimy slugs between my toes.

Barefoot on the grass, inside and on the balcony. Shoes on ladders!

But over all, barefoot gets my vote.

Shoes ARE an accessory...they accessorize every corner of my living space. I tend to kick them off the very second I am possibly able!

When I do wear shoes, its usually my bear paw slippers in the winter Lovey dubby Lovey dubby or moccasins in the summer. I cheerfully threw away every pair of 'heels' I had when I quit working outside the home Big Grin

AS a kid in the PNW and So. Cal, I was barefoot. After a couple of foot injuries. I learned to live with flip flops, now , as a senior with poor circulation, it's flip flops in summer, Uggs in winter. Hilarious!

Always barefooted in the house, but have to wear shoes in the garden...raccoon, dog, deer, armadillo poop is unpleasant to slip on.....bleak! And those shoes don't come into the house...

Hey! I was just going to make a witty comment about Nordstrom's shoe dept. being 3 miles from my front door...and the ad at the bottom of this thread is Nordstrom's! Can you people read minds, as well as programming?

Barefoot AS MUCH as possible... flip flops in the garden, no matter what I'm doing... and truly that means no matter what I'm doing... scares the crap out of my hubby sometimes Rolling on the floor laughing I'm a nurse so I need to wear shoes at work, but even those are slip on clogs LOL... and now that I'm pregnant again I almost feel claustrophobic in my shoes... so yay, no shoes for me... shoeless Thumbs up shoes Thumbs down

When younger shoeless-you can tell my the shape of my poor, many times broken baby toes, I now wear socks most of the time and have been known to go outside with them on

I am a barefoot girl forever but i have so many rose bushes, thistles, and nettles on the property that i start the season in shoes and garden gloves. But then as soon as the gardening gets more intense i edge right back to barefoot and gloveless.

Definitely barefoot... Thumbs up in the summer, flipflops for going to the store and some type of sandal for work. Socks in the house in the winter now that I'm getting older, and boots when I go out anywhere. And I drive barefoot, unless its freezing outside. Tennis shoes are only for long walks, and I take them off as soon as possible when through!

I am one of those women who do not at all understand when the sterotype of "women Love shoes and shoe shopping" comments are made Hilarious! I am barefoot 2 minutes in the door after work. My shoe "collection" consists of 2 pair of white (as plain as possible) Nike or whatever name brand sneaker, 2 pair of Birkenstocks (all sandal no clogs--need the feet exposed not parked in a shoe garage) and 1 pair of nice dress flats or low heeled shoes for dress up occasions. I have to wear the birkies when I garden due to the apt/parking lot proximity to my garden--all sorts of non feet friendly debris from the neighbors and stuff.

Funny as much as I love being barefoot, I haven't developed tough feet Smiling I will hop and be mumbling ouch as I trip over hot spots and rocks/gravel Big Grin

Barefoot for me. Shoes only when it's a have to case like going to town and working out. Hate socks as well. All of my sisters are the same most of my brothers prefer shoes but that is only because as boys they were always roaming the neighborhood. One sister's doctor told her she needed to wear shoes all the time. She told him in his dreams.
