Lee, I am enjoying the Jonquil 'Campernelles' you gave me at the last RU I attended, in College Station - Spring 2008, I believe. They are blooming right now. They have three flowers per stalk, all together at the tip. Very nice. Just makes me think it's spring. Are your other daffs blooming yet? Mine aren't.

Hi Becky! Maybe you'll see some blooms soon....but they may need another year. Lookin' forward to the ETRU this Spring
and it'll be here before you know it!

CJ - glad to hear the Campernelles are bloomin' for you! I've seen thousands of them bloomin' along the highway up near
Tyler....and there's some that bloom each year up near Huntsville.....a large group is very appealing (to me)
I have only one other daff bloomin' right now (don't know the name...yet) but it's a pretty one

Becky....I'm going to the one in LA also! Hope to meet you there! Are you going early to go to Forest Hill nurseries? We had last year's canceled because of swine flu scare. Hate missing the ETRU, but I can't think of any way to make both. if there's a RU in fall, I'll be there.

Bubbles.. yeah.. that's where I'm going..lol.. I was going last year, but it also was the same weekend as ETRU!! And then they canceled it anyway.ETRU always has a fall RU, and then in LA they go to Terrys for a fall RU. It'll be good to meet you!! We are pulling our camper, and will be there in Jeris' yard, so I might go even earlier if Jeri can use my help. I am looking forward to Forest Hills...my billfold might not be though... Becky - I don't now where Colmesneil is, but we are having a RU in The Woodlands on April 10, and we would love to have you join us. Both Lee and Bubbles will be there...

CJ...I found this photo of unloading the truck after my first RU. It was at Randy's in Houston a few years ago. DH and I left in a driving rain storm but by the time we found his house, the sun had come out and it was a perfect day. I came home with at least as many plants as I took there. We walked to Zone 9 Tropicals' backyard nursery. (Of all times to have a husband along!) We also drove to Penzey's for spices (thanks to knolan). And had a wine tasting that evening. For a first RU, it was a great one.

As I recall, it was a very hot and muggy day - July, wasn't it?
