Mary Ann, yes. My Louisiana behaves exactly like that. It got buried by a fence installing crew so I uncovered it, divided and spread if around. It looked just like you described. I thought some of it was lost but after 2 years, they all bloomed!
Every single one of them is amazing. Just amazing. I'm so glad y'all talked me into have this thread!!! Yes -- the world of Irises really is wonderful. I've never much cared for Flatties -- but I think that Frosty Moonscape is beautiful!! Do the Flatties require the same growing conditions as TBs?

Yes Mary Ann, they grow in the same conditions as other TB's. The weather has to be warm enough for them to open completely, but I don't think that will be much of a problem in May in KY!
One more that I have on order, and it's a historic -
