Does anyone have an identification for this very attractive squirmer? And was I wise to not touch any of the little hairy portions? It is so beautiful I have to believe metamorphosis will reveal a creature at least as beautiful.

You're welcome Debra. It was disappointing to me too when I found out what it turns into. You see that neat cat & think it has to turn into something super pretty. In this case I guess it's the ugly duckling backwards.

I agree with you on that, dirt, it looks like soft puppy fur. Just unhappy about what that moth does.
