I think it's time for a quail feast. Hilarious!

I have heard quail taste pretty good... nodding
Does anyone know how to stop spending money on flowers?

Ali Babba and the 40 thiefs were hoofing it to the garden.
Came to a screeching Halt (literally squawk and flap) when the merry band saw the low hanging cord with all the bright CD's
Went running off into the west. There are plenty of seeds in that direction. No need to eat my newly sprouted sunflowers
So maybe this is going to work
In the early morning before the sun comes up and the wind is calm, maybe not.
I will see tomorrow morning early

AND Furthermore
The Quail wrecking crew usually shows up with first light.
There isn't any sun on the disk and no wind, absolutely calm so the disks aren't spinning.
This morning, the quail avoided the area.
So the disks work even in low light and no wind.
Well, that is fixed, finally.
The Irises are putting on a show and next, the wild flowers!

Yesterday I was out for a short time and cleaned up half of a raised Iris bed. I had to go in due to my hands and feet freezing. It was awful cold with the wind blowing.

Today is going to be a much warmer day with little wind so I will finish that Iris bed when I get out there. Starting Monday afternoon, there is a chance of rain everyday in the 10 day forecast except for one day. But the rain will be a hit and miss event.

I'm glad the CD tech worked. I tried that at our old home to combat the deer, and it did work for a while.

Keep on top of that, Ratchet!

Well done Ratchet! Hurray!

Too bad CDs do not work on voles! Sad

Managed to weed my Moon Garden extension bed to the point that irises and other perennials are visible above the jungle. Thumbs up Lots and lots of dandelions in there and don't they just love growing in the middle of the iris clumps! Blinking

Windy, windy, windy here today. I went out and picked the first little mess of asparagus.

My friends are coming in a little while to pick up some horse manure. I am afraid that it may be too windy but we'll see.

I was going to work on an Iris raised bed but decided to just straighten up the decor in Dizzy's Garden and my sitting area instead. Picked up small limbs that were in the lawn. DH may mow tomorrow when it is less windy.

DH finally helped me outside, chivvying me along without my camera, so no pics, sigh. I made him stand ready to catch me at every stair, but thankfully no mishaps. Sticking tongue out

We didn't go any farther than the foot of the bridge stairs, and not at all into the Back 40, side yard, or into PCI land. Together we did a little iris deadheading and weeding, and I confirmed bloom on:

MAGNIFICENT MASTERPIECE

TOTAL RECALL
EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
MOSBY'S GHOST (badly needs a repot)
PURR FOR MINTS
HIDDEN GEM

CITRUS MEDLEY is taking a break.
TITAN'S GLORY has a stalk but actually hasn't bloomed yet.

DOUBLE DAY and the maybe AUTUMN CIRCUS (I forgot to have DH look at the label) look to be done.

One NOID and BLUE OASIS have already finished bloom.

It looks like I also lost BLACK PHANTOM, in addition to PEGGY SUE. Sighing!

I could see a few irises in bloom in the Back 40, one of them an old seedling (which I would have expected the gophers to have finished off by now).

Lots more stalks are coming up (tho not so much down in The Pit), including an old red one, BLOODLINE, which hasn't bloomed in a few years.

So yay, irises! Hurray!

I worked on the Iris bed along the driveway/side of the garage. I saw one smaller NOID Iris blooming. It is showing yellow. Not real sure what it is but will keep and eye on it with camera in hand.

I added 8 almost full 5 gal buckets of dirt to a raised bed today in the She Shed area. I need to add a few more and then I will be ready to start planting some Iris from pots. The other bed next to it will also be ready for Iris. Hurray!
