Terese, your FF Whamm Bamm looks like what I received from them last year. I saw a picture somewhere else though, that shows FF Whamm Bamm to be a variegated plant. So what do you think we have?

Elizabeth... I have another photo... think it's on DG.
it wasn't pretty - but since there were no other images of FF W.B. I figured i'd add it to PF.

I dont have the image on this computer or i'd post it.

the coloring is just starting to show up in a few leaves.... I'll add more images as the season goes one.

you really can't find images anywhere of it.... so that is why I did.

another reason i dated the photo.... my other photo is from the end of Aug, when we all made the mad dash to Marshfield, WI.

Elizabeth... regarding FF Whamm Bamm... the colors are getting more defined on mine. when i get home later and i can tweak it a bit in photoshop to bring out the coloring better... i'll add that image too and to the database.

here is my new favorite, just it's different....

bought it last year as a Patriot, but since Jeff told me it really isn't a Patriot anymore, BEV helped me name it
Flaming Patriot

I'll keep posting images as the season progresses and if it keeps changing.

Here is Foxfire Whamm Bamm, 10 days after the last image was taken... the colors are definitely coming out.

I still have to add this to the database, but i can not find a lot of info on it.

Terese, I love your 'Flaming Patriot'! Wow, that is just gorgeous!

I definitely don't think I received FF Whamm Bamm, mine is just solid green. I have no idea what they sent instead.

I did receive my itty bitty TC 'Foxfire Palm Sunday' yesterday - I hope it grows! Bonus plants were 'Peppermint Ice' and 'Count Your Blessings.' Not a bad deal Big Grin

I bought my FF Palm Sunday from Streaked Hostas.com:

http://www.streakedhostas.com/...

$45 is not a bad price, it arrived as a small tissue culture but the root system is good and I also received two free plants!

They're sold out of Palm Sunday. Thumbs down

They do have 'Athena,' which is one I've had my eye on for a while. Anyone have it?

I bought it last year, from a different vendor, a very nice large division from a mature plant. First I thought I lost it overwinter (would have been the only one I lost), then I thought I saw some life, now I am back to thinking that I lost it. It wasn't that great and it was a slug magnet last year, lots of holes.

Good to know, Elizabeth. Sounds like losing it wasn't an issue with the vendor giving you a lousy plant. I love the look of 'Athena,' but I'm certainly not going to spend the money for a streaked hosta if it's going to be a high-maintenance slug magnet that may or may not survive the winter. Not saying the plant is a failure, just that maybe there are more vigorous ones to consider. 'Savannah Supreme' is another one I'm looking at.

Nice 'Liberty'.

One of my favourites is 'Jewel of the Nile'. This one is getting BIG and it's quite dramatic as it unfurls.
