6 and 3/8" and still raining, occasionally really hard, so far creeks are still draining rapidly, but the bar ditches are flooding the roads as much as 6" deep. This was taken in a morning lull after 3.5" fell- it got even higher after I headed to town. I cleared debris from the tin whistle, so that drain is running still overfill.
Hyacinth beans are up, cuke seeds are up, hope they don't drown.

@kittriana that looks like my yard!!
Rained heavily this morning but quit early and the sun has been peeking in and out since. More rain expected tonight. I'll have to build an Ark to put my greenhouse and garden on, I guess. Shrug! BUT, come summertime I'll be praying for rain like this.

Howdy new fellow Texan! Yep, today was an Eeyore day despite it not raining all day.
More rain in the forecast, we don't need anymore or I'll have to build a raft to float to my garden in. Or buy one of those fan propelled swamp boats. Hilarious!

One whole night without thunderstorms, I REALLY appreciated the dogs not going nucking futs at 4 am....have another 3 fence posts to set while it won't be too dry, chuckl. The creek in Conroe is supposed to peak today at 28' above. Kingwood was never so wet...nothing has drowned here yet, so at least the raised beds are draining and not totally mud soup. Keep your head above the waterline guys.

Overcast today, storms expected early tomorrow morning. Crawdad has been active. He currently has three holes and working on a couple lately during all this rain. I have some bacon on hand, I may try to just fish him out.

May the 4th be with y'all today. Big Grin

I have toads that live in the holes without the mudball walls...we are back under a flood watch til Sunday 7 Pm. Got my 3 tposts set, fence panel up and gaps closed back up, been hurting since, did pick up a few more driftwood trash. Still dragging my feet on threading up the new sewing machine, and drawing a decent dragonfly, I suspect I may be catching a cold, sigh.

Another hard fast 3" with storms still hitting us hard, won't know totals today til after 10am, kids just left for Galveston, quiet reigns.
Even the snails are searching for high ground, so if Sluggo doesn't stand a chance, I have eggshells I saved for Spring plants.

That's what my eggshells are good for, thank you. Used to use them on some ponds that lacked calcium. I got another 2.5 to 3 inches of rain, all drains working, all sumps working. Furniture on the truck under the carport and a tarp but the truck is surrounded by water. Going to clean a pond this morning, if it's still standing after work I need to be pumping it out after work. i cleaned out the 75 but to save gas and combine trips I had to clean out the 05 and use it to pick up furniture.

After I used it to take plants to the NPSOT sale in Arlington. Rain was coming so it got shoved under the carport, I'll drive the 75 today. I did tarp it as well but the storm hit and no picture. Going to have to cut the legs off the armoire. to get thru door frame into the back bedroom. No closet in there, front bedroom stole it years ago, and I think it can hold some sewing machines on shelf and keep them from getting dusty.

Complicated day off? Yes and I say that's why we go back to work to rest up.

Up to 6 1/2 inches of rain in this past week. Rain barrel and pond can't handle more.

At least the rain has helped keep cooler temps for now

At least it didn't rain today but for some reason the power went off for a second. Mostly overcast.
Baked brownies, fertilized the plants that were fortunate enough to be kept undercover during this rainy spell and popped at a giant rabbit that was mowing the yard. If rabbits didn't poop or carry fleas & ticks, I'd appreciate their mowing service a lot more. After coming in this evening just from walking around in the front yard I found a tick crawling up my leg. That is reason #642 I do not want ANY animals in my yard.
The pair of roadrunners visited the yard though. They are welcome as they help get rid of bugs, mice, snakes and lizards. I wish I could give them a box of skinks.

I arrived for jury duty and when they closed the doors and the air cut out, I went to coughing up my toenails, so got a medical excused from criminal court. Thought I would never quit coughing though, so set up Dr appt to cover all loose ends. I did nothing in the garden, but went and picked up some food and hit H Depot for some stakes I need. Slept most of Sunday and all last night - catching up I guess. I also lifted the pots out of the trays so they could dry out better. It is still so soggy.
You would probably get rid of more skinks if you let more wildlife in the yard, Anne. Ticks, well, season ya know, but possums do get rid of those.
