Summer Sky is the perfect name for it too, it's a really sweet one. My sky garden needs that one for sure!

By next year, I should be able to steal you a piece, Neal. It seems to be a pretty good grower. I just planted it last year, but it's "clumping" nicely !

Wonderful, thanks Arlyn! And some Sibs are not so fast to increase, so that's great to hear!

I've been meaning to ask, Is anyone out there in ATP land interested in getting 'started" in the historic Iris ? I have tons of several of the 'oldies', that *should* be included in every ones "beginning" collections, and would gladly send them, for postage . Just off the top of my head, there's:
Coronation
Ola Kala
Neglecta
Lent A. Williamson
Snow Maiden
i.pallida var. Odoratissima
Flavacens

and probably a few more, once I get "to diggin' " ,I have some of these in BIG clumps, in several different areas, and ....they just gotta' move, to make room for some others. Let me know !

No problem Sherry :o) I will have many more to identify!

Hi all and thanks for the welome. I see a few familiar names besides Celia.

Thanks Arlan!
I think I'll go ahead and name those two.
Queen Caterina is so close! Mine doesn't have brown shoulder tho. How much does that matter?

Maryann,
I will! In the summer it's hard to keep up and I'm down to a couple threads on Dave's, a couple on Cubits.
I love this site, but ran out of time to get here. I'll make a better effort!
I love nuts :o) I believe you are one of the names I've been on a thread with long ago. Maybe with Charlene and Charly.

Lori,
So far I see no nuts, LOL!

Valor or City of Stratford could be the purple bitone Celia posted for me on page 14. My picture didn't show the red violet sheen, but it has one. Here is a better picture. It's tall and was this guy's Mother's iris. He's in his early 60's.
The second iris came from a century farm, but may have been planted by the previous renter. It's also tall and smells sweet!

What I believe came from a bee pod between Fabian and Honorabile: She has Fabian's outer colors, but yellow centered, not lavender. She has a miniature bloom like Honorabile. She is earlier than both! They are masculine.

We had a friend (now in assisted living) who had her 'Summer Sky' planted against a wall corner. One came down several step & here it was. Stunning. John had to dig poison ivy out of ours last year, so don't know if it will bloom this y ear.

Everyone has lovely, different iris! So neat to see a variety :o)

Linnea,
What do you mean by bee pod and masculine? It's pretty! I love the tops.
I agree with Indian Chief.

This iris was rescued at the same time as Rosy Wings.
It opens pretty magenta on the falls and fades. I notice I have the variegated streak in the top of one again this year.

I've noticed a "chimera", or two on mine, on early blooms, as well.
it was a pretty popular iris, back in the day, especially in this area, as a vendor (Quality Gardens0 in Freeport ,Illinois, really 'pushed' it.

Sally, a bee pod is a seedpod created by insects rather than manually by humans. Not sure about the 'masculine.'

Arlan,
I think you got it! I had possibly Shannonpin written down but it wasn't quite right. I'm going to call it named. Thanks!

OK, we're rolling right along. This is also one rescued at the same time as Rosy Wings and Folkwang. I called it black cherry. I think I have an identical one I got from an old friend.
