No rest for the weary. Today I bought a chain saw. Thumbs up

It's a baby chain saw just big enough for a girl (or an old woman); it's electric so I'll be limited to the lenght of the extension cords. Harbor Freight was sold out and the truck finally brought two, only two, and I got one. Hurray! Just gonna use it to cut a few branches here and there. Regular price $79.99; I got it with a coupon for $39.99. My neighbor has one and he cut down a huge pecan tree with his so I guess it's pretty good.

I liked the one I had , back before I lost the screw-cap over the oil reservoir.

They had advertised that "spare parts were available online", but by the time I needed the cap, they were no longer available.

Never had a chain saw - just an electric hedge trimmer - watch out for the cord! It's not pretty if you're on a ladder trimming the top of the hedge and cut through the cord. Throws you off the ladder and had to get a whole new extension cord Angry Angry Sure did learn a quick lesson though!

Nope, no ladders for me. And no climbing up into the tree with a chain saw either. That's against the chain saw rules. Gotta have two feet firmly planted on dry, level ground; have to be sane and sober...um, guess I will use the chain saw maybe once a month. Rolling on the floor laughing

My dad bought an electric hedge trimmer and he was showing off trying to impress my mom. He bent down and used the trimmer to cut back her creeping phlox growing near the front steps...and cut through the lovely green extension cord. D'Oh!

Another nice afternoon here, so have been moving around some of my plant containers. Our weather is in this nice cool pattern, and our city trees are holding back their leaf drop. Typically this will be busy clean up time already.

It did but it also threw me off the ladder at the same time. It flew one way and I flew the other!

Oh! What's that?! ....oops...
@legalily I've come close to that happening to myself once.
I was outside trimming some bushes, and I failed to pay attention to where the cord was. The good Lord was watching over me that day though. I finished, and only when I was rolling the cord up, did I see a huge tear in the cord, exposing all the guts. My hubby was NOT a happy camper that day. But no harm done.

On a different note, today I'm getting off my lazy butt and doing some fall clean up today. I plan to crush up all our leaves and put it in my garden today after testing the soil. I also need to get on with pulling the rest of my veggie plants out. It's a sad day for me actually. Summer went by too quickly for me. And with the surprise news that we're moving, this may be my last year for a large garden.... at least until the in-laws decide they want to sell the house to us.... like they said they would 2 years ago. ugh!
However, I got a ton of work done this year. So when we do move back here, I'll have my own garden of Eden happily awaiting our arrival. Hurray!
Lord please let this seed not be a weed!

My chain saw is also small, and electric. Serves me very well. You need the right tool for the person.

Quoting my previous post so I can add a photo. Here is the beautiful lawn...a half acre of totally useless grass.
Hopefully some day there will be fruit trees and a meadow, but for now I am content to know that I am winning the battle with the weeds. My DD and I like to call this part of the property "The Back 40":
