Very disappointing!
Thro' all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing; It finds an echo in my soul— How can I keep from singing?

Tabasco

Tabasco was probably affected by "rot treatment", and not the round up......but there are about a dozen, or so, that have bloomed (or tried to !) that are "chemical related injuries". I had hoped that only the "first bloom" would be affected, but I guess it's more a 'every bloom on that stalk" kind of thing . And since almost all of them were 'new"plants....there is only one stalk Crying . I'm happy that only one plant actually died from it (or, at least that's what I'm blaming the "demise" on !) .
One that I REALLY wanted to see bloom was "Chimera". (Zurbrigg '61)........but what I got was "ZIP" !!

Funny how we got every chimera except the REAL one. 'Next year' seems to be the mantra right now.

I've had an abnormally high rate of these this year. And I can't bring myself
to believe the weather is responsible for them all. There is so much herbicide
being spread during April & May that I am sure it gets carried by the wind
for miles. And being in a rural area we are surrounded by miles and miles of
fields. I've seen tankers out spraying with winds as high as 20-25 mph. If we
watch the dust clouds they drift for miles. Just my thoughts, but I've not seen
them this bad in past years.

Leon, I'm in agreement. Too many people use pesticides and herbicides when removing manually will work just as well and not hurt anyone or plants or animals. I've seen my own family get out the Raid or and herbicide for one critter or weed. Makes no sense to me to poison when it isn't necessary. Thumbs down
