The garden is pretty much at peak bloom today and the weather has been co-operating. Had two groups of visitors - always nice on such a beautiful day!

Gorgeous Pam -- just gorgeous!!! How many cultivars do you have? Did you have any rot issues this spring?

I got Tobacco Chew last year, but it's lookin' kinda puny. No bloom this year............. yours is beautiful!!

Great blooms, Pam. I have ordered Tobacco Chew this year. I hope I get blooms next year.

Thanks everyone!

Mary Ann, I am a true addict - and have been for a long time. At the moment there are about 400 different varieties of mostly tall bearded iris in the big hillside garden and some smaller plantings around the property. Some of them have been growing for over 15 years, so the clumps have turned into "patches". It is not unusual to have 50 - 75 stalks of each of these older ones. I will be doing a good bit of thinning this fall.

No major rot issues this year, but I lost a lot of stuff two years ago to the same type of symptoms that you are experiencing this year.

Mine have come back quite well. ( Unless they were new single plantings.) I hope your, and Arlyn's next spring is better.

Tobacco Chew is a cutie. Seems to be a little slow to grow though.

Tobacco Chew made me think of my Dad. He passed away 3 yrs ago at 90 yrs old. An old school farmer, he loved growing things and was good at it. I always told him that I had gotten my love of growing plants from him. He was always chewing his baccer while working.

Beautiful plants are being posted so it is hard to say what I like best. Hurray!

I got a bit behind with getting photos up as they bloomed. Kinda had a monster color explosion. More on the way.

Sadly no hammock - yet.
