I bought it rooted. I removed the spagnum moss it was planted it, saw the roots myself. I planted in more than 1/2 perlite and course North Shore sand, and the rest potting soil. It's been over 2 weeks and the new leaf growth has turned brown and disappeared. It is feeling a little soft 1" at the base but the rest of it is firm. We haven't seen much sun in the past 2 weeks. I have it up on the window sill to avoid the next rain storm predicted for tomorrow. Is there anything else I can do??

It could just be experiencing transplant shock, but I'd keep an eye on it. A picture would help.

The center where the three branches meet is not looking good. That might be rot..... Sad Can you talk to the person you bought it from?

Why would a plumeria rot from the center of the plant, where the three-tips formed? I have never seen this happen.

If it were my plant, I would certainly cut it below that three-tip rotting area and let that main "trunk" grow a new tip, or probably branch. You might have success in rooting that longest tip, but less success with the other two tips. This is just my experience, Cheryl.

Hetty, do you know a lady named "Denise"? She grows lots of plumeria in your area.

IDK @Ken, but the two shortest branches move at the brown spot when I sqeeeze them together. They should be firm.

I have not had any luck with 2-4" cuttings. Again, just my experience. That's not to say you should not try to root all the tips. Nothing ventured-nothing gained. Whistling

I think the rot just started. There are 2 spots that were soft. I used a clean knife and scraped down past the dark mush to clean wood. It never "bled" any latex but maybe its cuz it was at the trunk? Cleaned it with peroxide. Should i get some kind of fugucide to spray on it? Tape it closed or let it dry out? Supposed to be a hot sunny day near 90° for the next 6 days. No rain! Maybe full sunny days will help?

I'm glad the seller stands behind their cutting, Cheryl. Keep an eye on that bad spot and if you see the rot spreading, please cut the tips off. Let them callous and you should be able to root them.
Yes, Ken, I know a 'Denise'.

The seller sent me another rooted plant. The first pkant rotted compketelt through, as did the branches i cut off.

One of the branches on the replacement plant was broken but less than halfway through when it arrived. I have had it taped up for almost 3 weeks hoping it would heal I noticed the little branch was rotted today. And now i see this. Should i cut the branches off? The cutting is a good 12-13" size. Should iput it somewhere out of the rain? Cinnamon on the wound? It seems I am having a challenging time with JL Pink Pansy. Funny, since i bought it rooted so as not to have this kind of trouble.

That is rot starting from the break site, which will spread. Again, send the picture to the seller. And I would maybe take that seller off my list.....

I cut off the branches down to free flowing latex. Topped it with a bit of cinnamon for good measure. Gave it doses of sunshine out of the rain. Already 4 days later,, its literally rotten to the core, all 14" of it. This strong grower from Hawaii simply disliked Houston!
