Great job and great tutorial. I finally found a small rock and will give it a try. I love doing ladybugs and leaving them at friends houses. They get a kick out of finding them and calling me about it and I tell you some of the stories they tell are hilarius. I even put magnets on some of the smaller ones for the fridge.

Will be looking for rocks too, just love the lady bugs. Have a book on painting rocks to look like houses too. Now where did I put that book, I know I had it a couple months ago. I think the confusion icon is becoming a favorite of mine.

I have that book too! Fun little miniature houses. Ann Marie would love them for her All Things Miniature forum.

Robin, what are your ladybugs made of? They look way too perfectly shaped to be rocks.

They are the little glass baubles you buy to put in the botton of vases and things like that. They come in different colors.

Robin, out of curiosity, did you paint the bottom of the ladybugs? If so, I'd like to see it.

Robin, the ladybugs are so darned cute! You're all giving me ideas for things to do with my new grandson. Of course I'll have to wait a few years, he's only two weeks old!

I used to do Creative Crafts with my DGD for the Ft. Leonard Wood magazine. I also taught crafts to 100 kids and their moms, twice a day for a week at COPS Retreat Camp, every summer. I had a blast.

Love the turtles! And all the other rocks too! Need to find time to try some of these.

I used to teach rock painting to kids at camps that were located in the woods. They'd go out and find a rock to paint which was part of the fun. Sometimes they would bring back rocks that were so cool...I wanted them!

just got done hunting for rocks with my niece. we are going to paint them and hide them in the flower pots downtown will be a nice surprise for passersby, and for the volunteer who tends those pots each week

YES!!!! I just love that! How fun it would be to watch them discover them too.
