Sympathies go out to all of you with these tales of woe. My neighbor was having a hard time with a vole eating his veggies for the last 2 years but the neighborhood cats finally took care of it.

We have a bumper crop of moles here too. They're ruining the lawn with their criss-crossing runs -- and are invading my Iris beds. I hate 'em. Angry

Thanks Tom; please add them to my "list". lol

Braggadocio to the goners list.

I am getting lots of afternoon thunder showers (with heavy down pour pockets) and will be in this pattern for some time. I am way behind in getting rid of the spent bloom stalks and fear rot issues. Got another bed cleared, but lost another 10 or so rhizomes.

Got them down. Smiling

I am finding more rot, but it is small. I am finding a few areas are more infested with borer than others (I have very little borer activity this year). I guess my application of the Bayer product was not uniform enough. Lost "St Louis Jazz" to borer, but I have more of it that was not effected.

losses include (not total losses as I have more of each).

I am getting reports in from local growers that some have lost half of last years plantings and some established clumps. Western AR was really hit hard with OVER twenty inches of rain in May...... over nine inches of that in four days.

That's horrible! Sad

Over 20 inches of rain...in one month! Blinking 9 in four days! Blinking I believe that is more rain than the total we had for the year. I hope no one (or no animal) was hurt and the property damages were low. Sad Plants can be replaces, people and pets can't.

So many people were driven from their homes and cattle drowned. The Fourche is still over its banks and the farmers cannot plant their crops because the fields are just mud. You can hardly breathe for the mosquitoes. A lot of rain is not always a good thing but it is still better than the horrible drought on the west coast. And the loss of garden plants due to excess rain does not equate with the loss of your livelihood due to drought.

We have had 'too little' rain. I wonder if this last storm will come to New England.

I think my "Indian Hills" clump is a goner. It seems that "Poison Ivy" spray is bad for irises too. I may save a rhizome or two (out of like 40+). Will have to see.

This year has been hard on many plants in general and all over the USA. I lost many as well...

Strange it was either the newer ones or the historics nothing in between it seems
