I agree I had to wait a year after getting into daylilies before daylilies week finally came.

Ashton - Define "kiddos" .... under the age of 18 or a kid at heart? Whistling Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Seriously though ... I think it is absolutely WONDERFUL that some of our younger ATP members are really into hybridizing daylilies! I expect to see your names in the future as major hybridizers and sellers! And I can say ... "I knew them when they were young and just starting out!" Thumbs up Big Grin

For any gardener interested in trying their hand at hybridizing .... daylilies (in my opinion) are one of the best plants to practice (and of course get hooked on) for making their own unique crosses! I doubt I will ever tire of hybridizing daylilies. They've come to stay in my yard and I will probably continue to remove my lawn to make more room for them!!

Daylilies ROCK the ornamental plants world!!! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

I agree with you Becky!

As for Daylily's, they are IMO the best perennial on the market. This is my 2nd year into them. And, they are BEAutiful! I want everyone I see and keep a list of 200+. I have a Native American Heirtage bed planned that has over 65 cultivars selected to go in it alone. Thanks for the help to everyone that suggested ideas.
I'm such hemeorholic now, they are even influencing my future home purchase. New home must have acreage, so I can add all the cultivars on my growing list! Rolling on the floor laughing

Ashton - Whistling Sticking tongue out Rolling my eyes. That's ok, I forgive you ... I am a "kid at heart" whose job is working with little kiddos so I've learned to adapt and relate quite well! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Hurray! Daylilies Week!!
I sometimes wish that I was a lot younger and had more space for Daylilies. Every time I'm on All Things Plants I find myself clicking on the recently shared DL photos on the home page and enlarging them for a better view. Then I go to the database for more information about the particular one pictured ... and every time I say to myself that I should make a list of my favorites but then I realize it would be a very, very long list! Green Grin! I spend a lot of time viewing plants in our ATP database and it seems that more and more I find myself visiting the DL database I only have a few Daylilies and I'm not the best plant caretaker anymore but I truly love the pretty blooms of Daylilies!

Happy Daylilies Week Y'all!
