I think that 'cottage' might refer to all which is planted as well as the way it is planted. Afterall the original 'cottage' gardens had fruit trees as well as veggies & herbs & flowers.
The August flowers are in full swing...Hibiscus, Hydrangeas and Tall Phlox to name a few standouts. Just wanted to add these pics because I was lucky to get these Black Swollowtail shots. They love the Tall Phlox.
I just recently posted on the Home Garden Tours forum and I have seen Joanne update hers..Just wishing we could rejuvenate some interest in that forum..There are some really good contributors and I am wondering where they are and hoping some other cottage gardeners will check it out...
