Thanks! I can't say I planned it: the poppies spread and I don't recognize the things that came up. They are pretty in a delicate way, though!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to tell if they are Daikon radishes. The other ones that bolted on me didn't have "radish roots", they had a hair-with-a-bump.

The flame-red-orange was my one Mikado Poppy survivor.

Then Daikon Radishes, bolted.

I love them just growing where they please. They always look good no matter which perennial they are next to.

Well, you should have them "popping" up all over the place next year!

Does your California poppies flop over after they become so heavy? I have some that are planted in front of border and they are heavy with blooms but are almost leaning over on the sidewalk..Maybe if I planted something else same height in front of them, would that help? They have all been wintersown and are usually the first sprouts I see. This year I wintersowed "Thai silk" variety so I'll have to wait till next year to see any blooms..It is really easy to mistake them for weeds, just like I did the Primroses that showed up that I didn't plant.

Larkspurs have been so beautiful this year that I planted last year..my only complaint is that they just get way too tall..are looking for shorter varieties and think I have found two sources..hope I don't forget to order those seeds. easy to grow! I've been transplanting some of the newbie sprouts..some make it, some don't, and when the seed pods show up, I am clipping those and just laying them on the top of the soil where I want them to grow, keeping them watered, and hoping that my experiment works.

This one is Pink Champagne.

Mine's crammed into a container of other plants and is quite content in just morning and afternoon sun. I think I have others in the ground, but those seeds went in later so they're a bit behind in blooming. Smiling

This one is staying quite upright, though some of my other California poppies are a bit floppy. I think it might be because they're growing behind taller plants. I tend to over-plant,. Rolling my eyes. but I like that *chock-full-of-blooms* look, and if all of the ground is covered by plants, I save on mulch. Big Grin
