Wow, every one's anticipated iris are gorgeous. What a splendiferous display we will have next year on these pages. The thought takes my breath away! I stopped by Cooley's Garden once several years ago after they had closed for the season. But I walked through the field, oohing and aahing for about 45 minutes at the remaining stragglers. My hubby said I had tears in my eyes when I got back to the car. All I remember is being overwhelmed by their beauty.

Cleta - that is my greatest fear about going to a vendors fields. I may just be overwhelmed. But boy do I want to go!!!

As for pulling a database pic - open a separate tab and go to the database. Open a picture you want to use then highlight and copy the BB code. Paste that code into your message. Hit preview to check that it worked before you hit finished.

Cleta, go to the entry in the database for the Iris you want and click on whichever photograph you want so that it opens. There should be seven lines of text above the photograph. The last line is: ATP BB Code. Copy that string of characters, including the start/end brackets. Paste that information into the thread where you want the photograph to be seen.

Example here is Wonders Never Cease and one of Mary Ann's photographs.

I left off the front bracket so you can see what I am talking about.

Here it is with the entire string:

Trying the database photo method described here, with a recently planted iris:

It worked! Thanks Debra and Leslie. I've been limited to posting my own photos only!
Lakota is a little wilder, color wise, than I usually buy, and it's an intermediate, but I like it!

I am also in need of some instruction. How do I enter an avatar from the database? I already know how to add to the message area, but can't figure out the other.

Oooh, I don't know how to do that and don't see any mechanism on the Profile page to allow making a database photograph as your avatar. We can ask Dave. Smiling

I should have just ordered Lakota this year, but was being good. Such a beautiful median. Hope it blooms next spring so we can enjoy your pics Jan!!
