May apples, you are right.

It is Himalayan may apple (Podophyllum hexandrum), not our American native (Podophyllum peltatum).

Of course that's the American may apple.

I expected my Himalayan plant leaves to be more peltate, especially now that they are mature and blooming. Alas, not. But still nice. These are the same exact two, 10 days later. Makes me wonder if they aren't another Asian species.

Thread OP

Most of the listings from Hartle-Gilman are up and posted so the store is open. Note that some will ship from Minnesota and some from Maine. You need to order seperately, please. If there is something special you are looking for, ask... There are a few spare bulbs from last springs shipment and I may be able to locate one for you.

BTW, Faraway Flowers is moving! A new home is in the process of purchase in Poland Maine and moving will begin in early July. Lots more land and excellent draining soil for the lilies. I hope to be able to do some hybridizing in years to come.

Beautiful Ramona! Congrats on the new property. How exciting. But what a job you have to move all those lilies.

Ramona, saw Leftwood's Amelita on the Martagon photo thread. Will you be having that one again any time soon? Or should I email you through the website?

I anticipate that our first new lily for next year will be Purple Heart. This loucious lily is pink with purple tango marking. I hope to be able to offer it with a portion of each sale to go to a vetrans organization. Does anyone have any suggestions for a specific organization?Thumb of 2010-07-31/Mainiac/a321ee
