Now that I don't have a grandchild hanging over my every word, I can say my plan is to plant my granddaughter a row of lilies for cutting in the iris sale beds, and I wanted to intermingle them so that there should be something in bloom most of the time. So thanks for the info, Moby.
My granddaughter is seven, and she loves to cut lilies for my house and hers. Unfortunately when she does sometimes they don't come back, so I got some bulbs at a good price and she wll be able to cut them, and I won't be concerned. And maybe my more expensive ones will survive.
I went to the florist yesterday to get her a bouquet for getting her black belt, and a stalk of an asitic was 6.00! She got carnations, baby's breath and greens for 2.80.
