I like that 'Midnight' you have there Jo Ann. The color is beautiful. Just send it on over and I'll put it in my lily compost bin...promise. Rolling on the floor laughing

Another aurelian from Mak (Madame Butterfly). I posted this on DG several years ago.

Well they both are beautiful.

I wonder if MAK knows who the NOID MAK is?

I doubt it. It looks like a rogue seedling. Maybe I should dig it up this fall and propagate it...

Another sticky on my monitor to remind me. I will have to dig it up in the fall and scale it to get bulblets going. It might be next spring before I can send you something. Unfortunately it hasn't made any offsets naturally.

I have used its pollen on other lilies but haven't grown the seeds out.

That would be very kind of you. Seriously, I really love it. I could send a JI or sib in exchange?

We can talk about it then but I would send it to you anyway (assuming I get bulblets to grow!).

I think I have another photo of it, will post if I find it.

Here it is. It stays flatfaced; the petals don't curve back as on the Madame Butterflies.

Wonderful. I think it's one of the prettiest lilies I've seen. I don't know what about it catches my eye so.

Yes it does, mags. It is very showy and that is why I have kept it on in my garden.

I will have to dig everything out of this area and re-amend it anyway. This is in the area of than durn western red cedar's root zone and I bet it is solid roots in there. Just goes to show how tough these lilies are!

My favorite Lily --> Awesome, according to Buggy Crazy, ancestry consists of various Aurelian species and cultivars and L. speciosum, L. japonicum and L. rubellum in the Oriental division.
