I like to go out on my days off and walk along the roads side and fields in the area, photographing whatever catches my eye. I thought I would use this thread to post my pics. I don't know what everthing is but I will identify whatever I can. Feel free to jump in and identify what I can't or correct my mistakes.
The following photos were taken about 2 weeks ago.

Like some many of the wildflowers I find in the area, these were grow in an area under development. In the next year or two they will all be gone.

I hate it when they destroy the native vegetation by developing land, especially some really pretty areas. I have the Yelow Flax and some Self-Heal (hoping it's the native one...got it at a swap).

A lot of my pictures are taken in a large field at the end of my street. They have been building a gated community in the center, but just the last week I saw them doing more work in back of the community. It's a shame that in a couple of years all those flowers will be gone. I have been trying to dig specimens, but they have been mowing it a lot this year so I haven't had much success.

Finally got out this past week to take some pictures. This drought has been really bad on the wildflowers this year, but I was able to get a few shots.
I think this is Hibiscus lasiocarpos.

Is that hibiscus a native, and is it winter hardy? I love that one!

Wow! I would love to find that one before they bulldoze the area.
